“We know the shadow is a ‘he’. We know he was in your bedroom. What male would have access to you while you were at home?” Dr. Barone asked. "And who would walk into your bedroom when no one else was around?"

“Neighbors, friends, relatives, maintenance workers. It could have been any of them. Different people visited—often. My bedroom was the toy room. That’s where I played. And the bathroom was down the hall next to my room allowing anyone the excuse to have access to my room.

I left Dr. Barone’s office that day perplexed. I reviewed the many faces I remembered from childhood, but none of them fit the shape of the shadow.

Several days went by before I allowed myself to rest from looking for the face that fit the outline of the shadow. And it was such a relief to rest my mind from the emotional intensity.
